Broadway Alley Mural

Fresno has a new mural! Artist Robert Amador recently completed the mural on the back wall of Broadway Studios. Robert incorporated some of the elements from the existing but unfinished mural to create a composition that has a dissonant energy that while unsettling initially, draws the viewer in. The frenetic feel of the piece is what Robert was hoping to achieve as he worked over a frantic three and a half day period that had him sleeping in his car at one point. One of the most striking elements of the mural is the disembodied head that appears to be floating free yet is connected to all the elements of the piece. The eyes of the face are a reoccurring theme in Robert's work. Robert has two other murals downtown. One at Vagabond Lofts and the other in the interior court of H Street Lofts. You can view a wider range of his artwork at his art space in Broadway Studios. This young artist (Robert is 24) will definitely be someone to watch in the future. This mural was possible because of Robert's dedication and his willingness to waive his fee, the financial support of Reza Assemi and money raised by Creative Fresno at our Bartender Challenge events.
